Serge Ibaka has decided to join the Clippers. He will be joining Kawhi Leonard who was whisked away from Toronto in 2019. Serge Ibaka is leaving the Raptors on a two-year, $19-million US contract. He had been weighing offers from Toronto, Brooklyn and the Clippers.
Ibaka is a 30-year-old centre/forward who played two and a half seasons in Toronto. He had his best NBA season in 2019-20, averaging 15.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game
Serge Ibaka was a fan favourite during his four seasons in Toronto. One of the most colourful characters in the NBA. He was a key member of the Raptors’ championship-winning team in 2019.
Serge could walked away from a one year contract with the Toronto raptors to a longer term contract, 2 years with the Los Angeles clippers.
The Toronto Raptors President and general Manager, Ujiri and Webster respectively, met with Ibaka this saturday. The Raptors will be left with searching for a starting calibre for players.
