#BlackLivesMatter. Pope Francis speaks out on the death of George Floyd while in police custody.

Since the death of George Floyd on May 25th 2020, there has been no peace on the streets of many US cities. People are asking for justice. People are asking for murder charges be laid on all four police officers because they did not act when they needed to.

The people are not turning a blind eye to this racial act. They are not backing down until justice is served.

The pontiff called the death of George Floyd in the hands of the police “Tragic”

Pope Francis joined the rest of the voices world wide to condemn racism and the violence currently happening in the USA.

The Pontiff said a prayer for all those who are grieving. Including their families and friends.

“Let us pray for the consolation of their grieving families and friends and let us implore the national reconciliation and peace for which we yearn. May Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of America, intercede for all those who work for peace and justice in your land and throughout the world. May God bless all of you and your families”.

He equally talked on the violence and asked for National Reconciliation. He said nothing is gained in Violence but so much is lost.  

The Pope Said, “At the same time, we have to recognize that the violence of recent nights is self-destructive and self-defeating. Nothing is gained by violence and so much is lost”.
