Everyone is making an effort for their voices to be heard around the world. Some are on the streets, with signs raised above their heads, screaming at the top of their voices asking for racial justice.
Others are 0n social media, celebrities and non celebrities alike most of whom have one goal; to let their voices be heard about the racial discriminations around the world. Popular Social media platforms like, Facebook, Instagram and twitter, are swamp with posts and videos. Every voice wants to be heard, one way or another.
Lea Michele, the cannonball singer and Glee star is not left out. Lea took to social media to equally raise her voice about the current protests in the USA which came as a result of the death of the 46-year-old George Floyd.
While Lea’s tweet was very welcomed by some, others had something else to say about it. Samantha Ware, a Glee co star was quick to respond to this tweet of Lea. In all caps she aired what she went through as a co-star to Lea.
Dabier Kalif Snell, who played the role of Will in the TV series Black Lightning and also a Glee co-star, had to fire back at Lea’s tweet.
These backlashes are coming at a time when the entire world is feeling the impact the death of one black man, George Floyd. Old wounds are being opened. Painful memories of racism and ill-treatment and surfacing. People are voicing out their buried pain. People want change.
Lea is still to make a statement about these allegations. But her brands are beginning to drop her. HelloFresh took to twitter to officially end their partnership with Lea stating they do not condone racism.
