Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher took advantage of their global platform this month to help raise funds for the actress’ native country, Ukraine. The aim of this GoFundMe campaign,Stand with Ukraine, was to raise $30M. That goal has been reached and exceeded. Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have raised over US$30M in donations. At the moment, the amount raised for Ukrainian refugees is over $35M.
The celebrity couple, Mila Kunis and her husband, Ashton Kutcher, pledged to match up to $3 million in donations to help refugees fleeing her native country due to the conflict with Russia.
The donations are aimed at helping the victims with supplying humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees.
The 70’s show actress went on to share why this campaign is so personal to her. “I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, in 1983. I came to America in 1991. I have always considered myself an American, a proud American, I love everything that this country has done for myself and my family. But today, I have never been more proud to be a Ukrainian,” she stated.
The two organizations to benefit from these donations are Flexport and AirBnB. Flexport and AirBn are actively on the ground providing immediate help to those who need it most. These organizations are providing housing and supplies to those who have fled to safety in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova.
