Favour Ashe, whose name is known for wins on the tracks and brought pride to Auburn University, now finds himself caught up in the storm of allegations. Arrested in the USA, the accusations leveled against him are damning —multiple counts of theft and fraud, four counts of fraudulent use of a debit/credit card and two counts of theft of property. These allegations do not only tarnishing his reputation but are also casting a shadow over his once illustrious athletic career.
Favour, 21, who represented Nigeria at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where he won a bronze medal alongside three other Nigerians in the 4×100m relay. He recently transferred from the University of Tennessee to Auburn University, Alabama, whom he has been representing in the NCAA.
He turned himself in after warrants for his arrest were obtained. Ashe has been in custody in obedience to those warrants and was taken to Lee County Jail, where he’s being held on a $9,000 bond.
