The 12-year-old son of Tahir Hamid was found dead in the basement of their family residence. The entire family of Tahir, his 41-year-old wife Chia and their two other children Ahmed and Zheer 14 and 6 years old respectively, were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, after a fire broke out at their Markham residence on Bur Oak, Ontario. The cause of the fire is uncertain. A loud BANG was heard in the area which was followed by a fire that spread to the Neighbouring houses which also suffered damages.
Their 3rd son, 12-year-old Aran Hamid was unaccounted for at the time. He was caught up in the basement of the house for about 3days, however, significant structural damage continued to prevent entry into the home. Family and friends waited for answers.
Jeff Tebby, the supervisor in investigations with the Office of the Fire Marshal said the priority at this time is to find the missing person.
Tebby equally stated, “Everything we have so far indicates that that person was in the house and did not make it out”.
Sad enough, a body believed to be that of the12-year-old boy who was located inside the residence on Tuesday.
The investigation around this tragedy is still ongoing.
