According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu also extended his condolences to the Nigerian military following the loss of brave soldiers—including Brigadier General Musa Uba—who lost their lives while combating insurgents in Borno State.

The President Tinubu, who has been thoroughly briefed on both incidents, expressed deep sorrow over the attack and the kidnapping of the students, especially after intelligence reports had warned of a potential strike.

“As Commander-in-Chief, I am heartbroken by the tragic loss of our soldiers and officers in the line of duty. May God grant comfort to the families of Brigadier General Musa Uba and our fallen heroes. I am equally distressed that ruthless criminals have interrupted the education of innocent schoolgirls. I have ordered our security agencies to move swiftly and ensure the girls are safely returned to Kebbi State.

Our security personnel cannot succeed without the support of the people. I appeal to community leaders and citizens across the country—particularly in affected areas—to share any information that can help safeguard our communities. Your cooperation is vital to overcoming our security challenges,” the President stated.
