The video of a black man wrapped in a plastic bag keeps circulating on the internet. Emmanuel Chedjou is a Cameroonian businessman. He was deported on a Turkish airlines flight, wrapped in plastic film.
Emmanuel Chedjou, was seen in a live video screaming for help. The attention of people on the flight was drawn. People wanted to know what was going on at the back of the plane. It was only then, they realized Emmanuel Chedjou, a 47 year old Cameroonian , wrapped in plastic film. He was at the point of deportation. He was wrapped like a parcel for delivery.
The footage below shows how the 47-year-old Emmanuel Chedjou was shouting for help. He was struggling to free himself from the plastic film, which is used to wrap luggage at airports .
Some parts of the below video are graphic and entails viewer discretion.
In the above video, Emmanuel Chedjou explains what happened to him and why he was being deported.
Emmanuel stated had been scammed by an agency in Cameroon with a fake visa. He travelled together with his girlfriend who equally was deported.
They put plastic ties on my wrists and ankles and then put on metal cuffs. Then they stuffed my mouth with tissues and taped it shut,” he told the network.
The turkish authorities tried several times to put him on a flight back to Cameroon without success. At the point he was exhausted , he caved in and his deportation was arranged for Abuja, Nigeria.
My unanswered questions here are,
- Why was he deported to a country he is not a citizen of?
- For what reason was he refused a phone call or a lawyer.
- Why was he not fed?
- Was wrapping him in plastic film necessary?
- where is the respect for human dignity?
After Emmanuel was deported to Nigeria, he found transportation to get back to Douala, Cameroon.
Emmanuel is not happy about the situation. He seeks justice against the officers who rough handled him. Emmanuel wants to speak out against the Turkish Airlines. He wants to be compensated for the humiliation he was put through. Therefore, Emmanuel wants total justice for the mistreatment he received.
“I want to speak out against Turkish Airlines and the officers who humiliated me,” he said. “I want compensation for everything I went through and, if possible, I’m going to file a complaint.”
